A Training Institution Goes Digital
At Nyeri Vocational Training Centre, outdated administrative systems were slowing everything down. Paper-based processes made enrollment cumbersome, records difficult to track, and costs unnecessarily high. In addition, learning was restricted to physical classrooms, which excluded many young people who were eager but unable to attend in person.
Agian stepped in with a comprehensive digital transformation package that tackled both digitization (converting paper-based processes into digital systems) and digitalization (using technology to rethink and improve service delivery). Administrative functions such as enrollment, record-keeping, and fee management were digitized, reducing paperwork and human error. At the same time, a user-friendly e-learning platform was introduced, enabling the institution to offer blended and remote learning for the first time.
Our role didn’t stop at installation — we provided hands-on staff training, capacity building, and ongoing support to ensure the systems were not only adopted but embedded into the institution’s culture. Teachers gained the confidence to deliver lessons online, administrators became more efficient, and learners experienced a seamless transition into digital classrooms.
The transformation was game-changing. Within just six months:
- Enrollment surged by 60%, as the institution could now reach learners beyond its physical boundaries.
- Administrative costs dropped by 25%, freeing resources for investment in teaching and learning.
- The centre earned a reputation as a pioneer in digital learning, positioning itself as a model for other institutions in the region.
Most importantly, more young people — including those in rural and remote areas — gained access to quality training, unlocking opportunities that had previously been out of reach. By blending digitization with digitalization, Agian not only modernized processes but also reimagined the learning experience for lasting impact.
